Dominican Spirituality, Dominic & Catharine of Siena

Presentation:  February 7, 2009

Sr. Linda Gibler, OP, Ph.D.

Brief Description of Presentation

The presentation will describe Dominican Spirituality

not as a special way of praying

but as being alive in God and for others

From such a life springs Dominican preaching,

the hallmark of the Order of Preachers.

The foundations of Dominican life are fraternity, prayer and study.

This presentation will discuss how all three deepen spirituality

while focusing  on the second foundation -- prayer.

Prayer Exercise

Centering Prayer with the Dominican motto "Give to others the fruit of your contemplation" as a focus.
