Christian Mysticism:
History, Wisdom and Insights

The course will survey key figures of the Christian mystical tradition.  It offers a unique opportunity to explore in depth the history and wisdom of Christian mysticism.  It is a structured course taught by leading scholars of different Christian denominations.

Centering Prayer and Meditation will be an integral part of the course, but previous experience is not necessary.

The second year of this three-year course begins this September, 2008.   The classes are held from September through May.   Participants register for one year at a time.  One need not have participated last year to register.  Video Tapes and Handouts of the first year sessions will be available to registered participants.

The course will be held at Colonial Hills United Methodist Church, usually on the first Saturday of each month, from 9:00am through 12:00 pm.  The Church is located in Northwest San Antonio, just outside Loop 410, at 5247 Vance Jackson.

The course is open to anyone of any spiritual tradition (or none) who wishes to explore Christian Mysticism seriously and in depth.  No prior knowledge is required, but the course will best suit those who are prepared to give time for personal study.  Registration is now open for the second year of the course.
